The Art of Raising Teenagers
So I officially have teenagers or should I call them tweenagers. One is almost 11 and one is 13. Both boys-, which is so fun but does not allow me to explore my inner “girlyness”. I don’t have a partner in crime to go the shoe store or to play with my new makeup or go get manicures with.
And that’s ok.
I love my boys and they love me. I love going to all of their baseball games and football games and basketball games and practices. No really I do. But lately we seem to be having a few obstacles. I can’t get them to answer me and when they do, they generally grunt. They sleep until 10 or 11 if they are able to. They are always bored (so they tell me) We never have the proper food in the house. I have to be available to drive them all over town for various activities and oh and yes, their cell phones, stink. Did I mention they are lucky they have phones at all?
No, its not that bad. They are growing and changing and with their busy schedules and sometimes they just want to lay around the couch and not answer their mother.
I can live with that. As long as they hug me at the end of the day, tell me they love me and in their small ways, show me that they appreciate me.
Thank goodness they do!
